Elon Musk is the largest single shareholder with a passive stake of 9.2% in Twitter. This is according to a report filed with the SEC.
The disclosure came after the Tesla CEO recently criticized Twitter’s free speech rules. He had previously conducted a survey. In it, his 80 million followers were asked, „Free expression is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you think Twitter strictly adheres to this principle?“
Result: just over 70% of respondents answered „No.“
Background: Musk has already expressed his interest in setting up his own social media platform on several occasions.
