Google opens campus for advertising industry

Google has opened its first company-owned campus in Mountain View, California, where 4,000 advertising industry employees will work. The tech giant first shared plans for its Bay View campus in 2013.

The 42-acre campus is located near Google headquarters and next to NASA’s Ames Research Center in Santa Clara County. It consists of two office buildings, an event center and 240 temporary hotel units for short-term employees.

The roof consists of 90,000 solar panels that can provide up to 40% of the energy needs. The panels give the building the appearance of a „dragon skin“.

Another Google campus , Charlton East, is in the final stages of construction and is scheduled to open next year in Mountain View.
