9. November 2023GPT-4 Turbo: long, very long entries are now possible
San Francisco, 7.11. 2023
OpenAI introduced GPT-4 Turbo and introduced a GPT app store at its first-ever developer conference. The DevDay event, held Monday in San Francisco, attracted nearly 1,000 developers who came together “to explore tools and share ideas.”
GPT-4 Turbo, now in API preview, is trained using data through April 2023, an advance over the previous GPT-4, which only used data through September 2021.
Turbo’s expanded 128KB context window – the equivalent of a 300-page book – enables understanding of longer input compared to previous versions with 8KB and 32KB context windows.
The entry cost for Turbo is $0.01 per 1,000 tokens, less than the $0.03 charged for GPT-4.
OpenAI also announced a personalized chatbot builder for individual ChatGPT users. Users can create custom chatbots called “GPTs” for their own purposes or to share with others.
In addition to the builder, OpenAI is introducing a GPT store or marketplace where users can publish personalized AI chatbots for public download.
According to OpenAI, users will ultimately be able to earn money from their apps based on usage statistics.
