1.6 million users wanted to know: what is and what does Musk’s project xAI want?

Elon Musk’s latest project, xAI, aims to develop useful artificial general intelligence (AGI) and explore concepts such as dark matter, dark energy, extraterrestrials and gravity.

Friday’s chat on xAI attracted an audience of over 1.6 million listeners.

During an audio chat on Twitter Spaces, Musk expressed his confidence in creating a competitive alternative to big players like Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI.

During the talk, Musk suggested that xAI’s mission statement could be humorously rephrased as „What the heck is really going on?“

The CEO expressed the wish that xAI should build a „good AGI“ or superintelligence on par with human intelligence and gain a deeper understanding of the universe.

Through the efforts of xAI, Musk predicted the emergence of AGI by 2029.

Given the inevitability, he said there were two choices: be a spectator or a participant.

Musk criticized for-profit public companies and emphasized xAI’s freedom as an unlisted company.

While xAI is still in its early stages, it will work closely with its other companies, Twitter and Tesla.

The company plans to use Twitter data to train its AI models and may also work with Tesla on AI software to improve its self-driving car capabilities.
