Tesla: Reverse Smart Summon coming soon/laying of the foundation stone for Giga factory

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced on his Twitter account that „Reverse Smart Summon“ is coming soon. The feature would hypothetically allow Tesla vehicles to drop off a passenger at one point and then autonomously find a nearby parking space. Asked when the feature would be released, Musk replied that the automaker would need to complete work on the core foundation code and 3D autopilot labeling, then the functionality would be available quickly. This would probably not take very long.

The foundation stone for Tesla’s European production facility will probably be laid this month. The Grünheide site near Berlin was recently the focus of controversy when environmentalists tried to stop the construction of the Giga factory. At the end of last month, Tesla received permission to clear the land for the production facility. Musk confirmed on Monday that he will attend the laying of the foundation stone.
