TikTok confirmed: We will sue the US government

The lawsuit would be directed against President Trump’s order that the app be banned in the USA because it allegedly threatens national security.

On August 6, Trump issued an executive order that would prohibit TikTok and WeChat from operating within the United States unless their assets were sold to U.S. companies within 45 days. In its order, the U.S. government claims that the app threatens U.S. national security.

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is reportedly in discussions with several U.S. companies: Topic: Takeover of the US shares of TikTok . Microsoft and Oracle are reportedly involved in discussions.

It is unclear whether the lawsuit could potentially stop or delay Trump’s ban of TikTok and WeChat in the U.S.
