Musk: SpaceX still plays a role in bitcoin’s future

Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey and Cathie Wood participated in a live discussion during The ₿ Word conference. Musk confirmed that both Tesla and SpaceX own Bitcoin.

Musk said that Bitcoin might not be the basis for the world’s monetary system, but „on the second level, it’s possible, depending on how it’s implemented.“ He felt that SpaceX would „play a role in“ the future of Bitcoin, but did not elaborate.

Musk declared himself „pro-nuclear“ is. He also said that Tesla would again accept Bitcoin once renewables make up at least 50% of its energy sources.

Wood said that Bitcoin is already „in many ways more environmentally friendly“ than gold mining or traditional finance. Last week, Jack Dorsey tweeted that Square is building a decentralized finance business (DeFi). The Twitter CEO said his biggest focus now is on Bluesky, „a decentralized social media protocol.“
