Those who work from home have their pay cut

Google employees in the US who work from home could have their pay cut. Google explained this handle by referring to remote – employees. Their wages would be calculated on the basis of local compensation rates for their place of residence and not for the main office to which they report.

According to the Reuters news agency, an employee who lives in Stamford, Connecticut, and works from there would earn 15% less than an employee who works from home in New York City.

Further, it is reported that Google would pay its employees 25% less if they left San Francisco and moved to cheaper areas like Lake Tahoe. Microsoft, Facebook and Twitter also already pay remote workers who live in cheaper areas less money.
