These are the top picks of venture capital firms
San Francisco, Nov. 30, 2021
Venture capital (VC) firms have voted on their top picks for private companies developing AI applications. Goldman Sachs and Seattle VC firm Madrona Venture Group sponsored the first-ever top 40 list for intelligent applications, released today.
Madrona surveyed 40 VC firms, as well as Amazon and Microsoft, to find out which startups they believe have the most promising new intelligence applications that leverage AI/ML.
The companies range from early-stage startups (less than $30 million) to mid-stage ($30 million to $200 million) to growth-stage (more than $200 million).
To make the list, 50 judges from VC firms were allowed to cast two votes from their portfolio in each category. The most distinct and well-known companies on the list are “intelligent app enablers,” such as Databricks, DataRobot and Fivetran.
In a podcast about the list, Madrona CEO Matt McIlwain said it’s likely that intelligent apps will replace SaaS.
