Panasonic now also victim of ransomware attack

Panasonic has announced that it was the victim of a data breach between June 22 and Nov. 3. Panasonic first discovered the breach on Nov. 11 and said „some data on a file server“ was compromised.

The company said it worked with an undisclosed third party to investigate the breach. Pansonic did not specify what information was accessed or whether customers were affected.

Financial information and email addresses were among 4 gigabytes of data captured in a November 2020 ransomware attack.

In September, Japanese tech giant Olympus was the target of a ransomware attack that forced the company to temporarily suspend operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
