Chinese Winnti hackers were caught stealing intellectual property from multinational companies. The breach was reported by security analysts.
The targets included technology and manufacturing companies based mainly in East Asia, Western Europe and North America.
The attackers targeted intellectual property, sensitive documents, blueprints, diagrams, formulas and manufacturing-related proprietary data.
The attack , which has been ongoing since 2019, consisted of a multi-stage infection chain that allowed the group to stay under the radar.
