Goodfellow now working at DeepMind

Ian Goodfellow, the former director of machine learning at Apple, has reportedly accepted a position at the AI lab of Alphabet’s London-based subsidiary DeepMind. The researcher cited his disapproval of the company’s return-to-work policy as the reason for leaving Apple.

The new environment is by no means new to Goodfellow. Before joining Apple, he was an employee at Google.

Meanwhile, Apple has said it will postpone plans to require company employees to return to the office three days a week as COVID cases increase.

Instead, the company will stick with its original plan to work two days a week in the office, although employees can continue to work remotely if they want.
