Apple: impatiently waiting for WWDC 2022

San Francisco, 6/2/2022

Apple is expected to announce new software updates at its WWDC 2022 developer keynote on Monday, June 6.

At WWDC, Apple will preview iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, tvOS 16 and macOS 13 before releasing the final versions in the fall.

For iOS 16, one insider predicted more “social network-like features” in Messages, as well as new features for the Health app that work with the iPhone and Apple Watch.

In addition, iOS 16 is expected to include support for an “always-on” display on the upcoming iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. This means that widgets can be displayed on the lock screen even when the phone is not in use, similar to newer Apple Watches.

The feature, which was originally planned for the iPhone 13 but was later dropped, works by reducing the screen’s refresh rate.
