Ukrainian law enforcement authorities have arrested a nine-member hacking group. They are accused of having captured over three million dollars with the help of fake websites.
On the websites, Ukrainian citizens were promised EU financial aid. They had to provide their personal data and bank accounts. The hackers achieved their goal and emptied the accounts. In this way, more than 5000 people were defrauded.
The threat vector that the group used to reach the victims was a phishing link.
