U.S. and Israel forge technology partnership

Tel Aviv, 7/14/2022.

On Wednesday, the U.S. and Israel announced a technology partnership that will focus on trusted AI, climate change solutions, pandemic preparedness and technology ecosystems.

According to a White House statement, the two countries‘ national security councils will lead discussions to promote and protect emerging and critical technologies.

In the artificial intelligence category, discussions will focus on the challenges of supporting „cutting-edge AI“ in transportation, medicine and agriculture.

According to the White House, countries will focus on tools for trustworthy AI, risk management and improving data privacy.

Officials are expected to meet annually, with the first meeting scheduled for the fall.

The announcement came just hours before President Biden landed in Israel for a four-day trip to the Middle East. The agenda includes visits to Israel and Saudi Arabia to discuss national security and the global oil crisis, among other issues.
