Unique avatars can soon be conjured up with Nvidia’s ACE

Nvidia has unveiled the Omniverse Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE), a suite of cloud-based AI models and tools for designing digital humans in the metaverse. The GPU vendor announced the tools and more during this week’s SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques) conference.

ACE is an AI-powered 3D avatar builder built on Nvidia’s Unified Compute Framework. The tool combines many AI technologies to create digital assistants that could one day pass the Turing test, according to Nvidia’s Rev Lebaredian. It can connect to any machine to render the avatars, he added. It should be available to developers in late 2022 and to customers in early 2023.

At SIGGRAPH, Nvidia also announced new SDKs for neural graphics and a new version of Omniverse for metaverse application development.
