Amazing D- ID conjures from the image of a person

AI startup D-ID has unveiled Creative Reality Studio, a platform for creating videos from text and a single image of a person. Users simply upload a photo and enter text or an audio clip. Then they choose a voice, language and style, such as happy or excited.

Based on these parameters, D-ID’s AI algorithms generate a video that can be used for tasks such as business communication, marketing, corporate training and education.

TechCrunch tried out the platform and found that it takes several minutes to produce a one-minute video.

While Creative Reality Studio could be used to produce deepfakes, D-ID says it filters out obscenities and racist remarks and uses image recognition to prevent images of celebrities from being used.

It also blocks political content and removes or suspends accounts that violate these terms.

A free 14-day trial allows users to create videos of up to five minutes. A $49 monthly subscription allows for 15 minutes of video.

D-ID’s AI software is also used by online genealogy service MyHeritage for its „Deep Nostalgia“ tool, which makes photos look like they are moving. Users use it to animate old photos of their ancestors.

The companies later unveiled a follow-up project called LiveStory, which adds audio and voice recordings to the moving photos.
