He is not allowed much time for dreaming on. Because from numerous corners he is currently massively reminded that he is planning some changes. These include his promise to make the platform’s algorithm accessible to the public. Musk already described how this could work at a TED event in April. He then favored publishing the underlying code on GitHub, which Musk said would increase transparency.
Musk also mentioned other points in favor of this action: it could prevent manipulation behind the scenes, either algorithmically or manually.
In March, Musk wanted to know from his 82 million followers whether the “Twitter algorithm should be open source.” Nearly 83% voted yes.
Musk has also stressed that he wants to eliminate permanent bans on the platform and fight the number of spam bots and fake accounts.
