New York, Nov. 22, 2022

Automaker Stellantis has signed an agreement to buy aiMotive, a developer of advanced AI and software for autonomous driving. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Stellantis said the acquisition will support its AI technology and development of its STLA AutoDrive platform.

The platform, developed in collaboration with BMW, will provide vehicles with Level 2, 2+ and 3 autonomous driving capabilities through over-the-air software updates.

Amsterdam-based Stellantis plans to deploy STLA AutoDrive and two other technology platforms starting in 2024.

The company expects the software to generate about $20.5 billion in additional annual revenue by 2030.

Stellantis, the world’s fifth-largest automaker, represents 16 brands, including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram.

Upon completion of the transaction, Hungary-based aiMotive will operate as a subsidiary of Stellantis.
