According to a Semafor report, as confirmed by Bloomberg, Microsoft could invest another $10 billion in ChatGPT creator OpenAI. The investment would be part of a new round of funding with other investors that would give OpenAI a valuation of $29 billion, sources said.
Under the proposed terms, Microsoft would receive 75% of OpenAI’s profits until Microsoft’s investment is recouped. After that, Microsoft would take a 49% stake in OpenAI, with the remaining investors taking a further 49% stake. OpenAI would keep the remaining 2% equity.
