During a Reddit AMA later this week, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said he believes generative Ki programs will have „a huge impact“ on the world. Asked if there is a mammoth technology that is undergoing a transformation similar to that of the Internet years ago, Gates said, „AI is the big one.“

According to Gates, Web3 or Metaverse technologies are by no means revolutionary ki. However, he was „quite impressed“ with the rate of improvement in generative AI, which includes recently unveiled systems such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and DALL-E 2. ChatGPT „gives a glimpse of what’s to come,“ Gates said.

In the context of his charitable foundation, Gates said AI could, for example, help students with math and provide medical care to people in Africa who lack access to health care.
