New Windows 11 update with Bing chatbot

Microsoft’s latest update for Windows 11 adds the Bing chatbot to the search box of the operating system running on PCs. The feature is only available for Windows 11 users who have signed up for the Bing AI Preview.
The update allows Microsoft users who already have access to the Bing chatbot to use it directly in the Windows 11 search bar.
A Bing icon will be available in the user’s taskbar search bar, allowing them to converse with the bot without having to use the Edge web browser.
Engadget’s Devindra Hardawar adds that Microsoft’s goal is „to integrate the Bing chatbot into the core of Windows 11.“
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing, says that the new Bing in Windows 11 „is a very important feature“ as the search field is used by more than „half a billion people on a regular basis“.
As a reminder, Microsoft is also preparing to demonstrate AI capabilities in Office apps in the near future.
