According to new CEO Neal Mohan, YouTube is working on generative AI tools that will help with content creation. In his first letter to the YouTube community, Mohan said that AI could help creators by expanding their storytelling and increasing their production values.
For example, creators could try to “virtually swap outfits or create an amazing movie set through the generative capabilities of AI,” Mohan wrote.
“The power of AI is just beginning to emerge in ways that will reinvent video and make the seemingly impossible possible,” he added.
Mohan noted that Google-owned YouTube intends to take its time to develop generative AI “with thoughtful guard rails” as well as “safeguards to responsibly embrace this technology.”
