I/O event: Everything revolves around AI

San Francisco, 5/9/2023

AI will be a key part of Google’s I/O event on Wednesday. It is very likely that the search engine group will present its large language model PaLM 2 and AI tools for its workspace apps.

This conference is all about the question: How can AI help people reach their full potential? It is believed that Google will announce further generative AI experiences and updates for Search and Bard, the AI chatbot, as a first response.

For example, as CNBC reported, Google has been working on updates to Bard, including a „multi-bard“ version that can code and answer math problems. Also check out „Big Bard“ and „Giant Bard“. However, no details were given about this

Eventually, the group will leverage the I/O and announce new AI features related to its search engine, including a potential AI chatbot under a project codenamed Magi.

Google has already announced that it will introduce generative AI tools for most or all of its Workspace products, including Gmail, Chat, Meet, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms

On Wednesday, Google is expected to demonstrate how AI can generate templates in Google Sheets and images in Slides and Meet.

Google’s AI tools are based on its large language model known as PaLM (Pathways Language Model). Google will announce PaLM 2 on Wednesday, which includes more than 100 languages, according to CNBC.

In addition to writing, the LLM, known internally as the „Unified Language Model,“ can also teach programming and arithmetic, the report says. Last month, Google launched Med-PaLM 2, a large language model that answers medical questions for the healthcare sector.
