Amazon: re:Mars – Conference canceled

Amazon has confirmed it will not be hosting its re:MARS conference this year. re:Mars was launched in 2019 and stands for “Machine learning, Automation, Robotics, and Space”.

According to the company, the decision to cancel was not due to budgetary constraints. After consulting with customers and the community, Amazon will instead integrate re:MARS topics, including machine learning, automation and robotics, into its existing AWS events for 2023, a spokesperson said.

In the past, re:MARS served as a platform for presenting pioneering innovations such as delivery drones and storage robots. During last year’s conference, Amazon introduced CodeWhisperer, an ML-powered programming companion. Furthermore, an AlexA language assistant presented that he can imitate any voice, including those of deceased family members.
