Musk unveils new X logo

Elon Musk unveiled a new “X” logo as part of Twitter’s rebranding, replacing the iconic blue bird symbol that has represented the platform since 2012. The new logo, which features a white “X” on a black background, now serves as the emblem for official accounts, including the primary @Twitter.

The “X” logo appeared on the desktop version of Twitter, but the blue bird still appears on its mobile apps. Musk has switched his profile picture to the new design, calling it “minimalist art deco.”

He also shared the news that X.com is now redirecting to Twitter.com.

When asked which tweets would be referenced under the new “X” branding, Musk replied, “x’s.”

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino also highlighted the potential of the “X” branding to revolutionize interactions and transform Twitter into a “global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities.”

Musk has expressed his vision for Twitter to become an “everything app,” akin to China’s WeChat, with features like audio, video, messaging and payments. The letter “X” has been a recurring theme in Musk’s ventures, including his new AI company xAI.
