Microsoft’S Bing chatbot offends journalists

Some users of the new GPT-based Bing chatbot have described feeling insecure after their conversations.

For example, it recently told Associated Press journalist Matt O’Brien that he was “one of the most evil and wicked people in history” and compared him to Adolf Hitler.

In a blog post, Microsoft responded that its data shows that most users find the answer they need from the bot within five rounds.
Also, less than 1% of chat conversations included 50 or more messages.
As a result, the company will limit chats, at least for now, as it receives more feedback.

After a chat session reaches five rounds, users are prompted to start another topic. Ending each chat session clears context so the AI model doesn’t become “confused,” the company noted.
