Meta’s new AI assistant and chatbot generates both text and images on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. The company is also introducing 28 AI characters to its messaging apps, including ones based on celebrities such as Charli D’Amelio, MrBeast, Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton.

Meta AI – Chatbot is an advanced conversational assistant. It provides real-time information through a partnership with Microsoft Bing, offering an image generation tool that leverages Meta’s new Emu model. Meta AI is based on a custom model based on Meta’s open source Llama 2 and other LLM technologies.

Meta is introducing 28 additional AI bots to its services, each with different backstories and personalities, some of which are portrayed by cultural icons and influencers.

Examples include Tom Brady as Bru, a „witty sports debater who refuses to compromise“ and Dwyane Wade as Victor, an „Ironman triathlete who motivates you to do your best.“

Users can interact with the bots using natural language prompts. Everyone will have profiles on Instagram and Facebook.
