China: record NEV sales boost NEV battery production

In August this year, 321,000 new (NEVS) vehicles were sold in China. This was 180 percent more than last year. An absolute record, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

This also explains the rapid increase in the production of batteries for NEVs. It was 161.7 percent higher than in the previous year. The production of lithium iron phosphate batteries was also dynamic. Here, a year-on-year increase of 268.2 percent was reported.

In addition, China produced 8.4 GWh of ternary lithium batteries in the reporting period, an increase of 91.5 percent year-on-year.
