TikTok testing a tool, that generates music from text announcements

Tik Tok is testing “AI Song”, a tool that generates music from text announcements. According to The Verge, AI Song combines lyrics generated by the Bloom language model with pre-saved music from the TikTok catalog.

AI Song is aimed at TikTok users and not music industry professionals.

It generates lyrics based on text prompts and matches the lyrics with pre-saved pop, hip-hop and EDM tracks, a TikTok spokesperson said.

After the song is created, users can switch between different genres to edit the song.

The tool, which is technically not a true AI song generator, will likely be renamed, the spokesperson said.

Since this is an experimental feature, it is only available to a limited group of users. It’s unclear if and when AI Song will be made available to a wider user base.
