Security of the US presidential election at risk?

Cyber security experts are concerned about the security of the upcoming US elections in the light of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Benjamin Hovland, the chairman of the Electoral Assistance Commission, responding to questions from The Hill, stressed that COVID-19 could be an opportunity for disinformation campaigns by Russia and China during the elections. Paul Rosenzweig, a national security and cyber security expert at the R Street Institute, expressed fears that the demands of social distancing will result in polling stations not being fully staffed, raising security concerns. He also noted that the machines used to count ballots sent by mail may not be adequately secured. Congress has so far approved 825 million dollars in funds for election security.
