The nine-year-old monkey, named Pager, has had Neuralink’s „N1 Link“ chips implanted on each side of his brain. The implants can record and decode the electrical signals that coordinate body movements.

Using this technology, Pager was able to manipulate a desktop cursor and play the game „Mind Pog“ simply by thinking about moving. In a series of tweets, Musk said Neuralink will allow people with paralysis to control smartphones with their thoughts faster than someone using their thumbs.

Musk, who has called the device a „Fitbit in your skull,“ said his goals include curing neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia and merging humans with artificial intelligence.
